Key Responsibilities:
Safety Compliance:
Ensure adherence to OSHA, FDEP, and other relevant regulatory standards. Conduct routine facility inspections and audits to identify and mitigate health and safety risks.
Training and Education:
Develop and deliver safety training programs to enhance employee awareness and knowledge. Foster a culture of safe work practices and environmental responsibility.
Hazard Management:
Investigate workplace incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective measures. Oversee the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate safety program records, incident reports, and compliance documentation. Prepare and submit required reports and permits to regulatory agencies.
Emergency Preparedness:
Continuously update and improve emergency response plans. Conduct emergency drills to ensure readiness for situations such as spills, fires, and other emergencies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field (preferred), or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 2 years of EH&S experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and industrial safety practices. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Certifications such as OSHA 30, CSP, or CHMM are advantageous.
