Position Summary The Safety Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and advancing the Company’s corporate safety program. Acting as the safety director, this role ensures that all safety initiatives align with company values and regulatory standards. The Safety Coordinator will design and deliver safety training, conduct site inspections, monitor workers’ compensation and auto claims, and collaborate with internal teams and insurance partners to improve safety systems across all locations. This position plays a critical leadership role, influencing safety culture across the company’s 11 branches and over 500 employee-owners. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and monitor short- and long-term safety initiatives in alignment with company strategy and best practices. Act as the company’s safety director and subject matter expert. Conduct periodic site safety audits at job sites and branch offices. Partner with insurance companies, vendors, and branch leadership to manage workers’ compensation and auto liability claims and procedures. Develop, update, and deliver safety training materials tailored to various departments and field conditions. Standardize safety protocols and training across all departments and locations. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and continuously enhance them. Maintain comprehensive documentation, reporting, and communication of all safety-related activities. Provide guidance and support to field personnel, managers, and senior leadership on safety and compliance issues. Build strong working relationships with branch leaders, jobsite foremen, and field staff. Seek input from employees and leadership to continuously improve safety programs. Stay current on industry trends and maintain certifications through seminars, memberships, and continued learning. Assist the HR Director with related safety, wellness, and HR initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications Required:

High school diploma or equivalent. 2-5 years of experience in safety coordination and/or corporate training. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

OSHA 500 & 501

Valid driver’s license and ability to meet insurance carrier requirements. Strong understanding of adult learning principles. Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, HR, or related field. Experience in the construction industry or with multi-site safety program implementation. CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor Fall Protection Trainer Physical & Mental Requirements Ability to safely visit jobsites and travel frequently (up to 50%). Requires mental alertness, good judgment, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Must have corrected vision and hearing within the normal range and be able to communicate clearly. Requires stamina to perform administrative tasks for extended periods. Tools & Technology Proficiency with computers and office software. Ability to use mobile phones, voicemail, email, and various safety reporting platforms.
