Full Job Description Job Overview:
This position will provide full time environmental health and safety support to production and corporate personnel establishing programs and objectives. Supports the development and coordination of safety training programs. Monitors safety and health regulations and provides technical support to plant and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with federal/state safety and health regulations.
Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for the implementation of Environmental Management System and the provisions of the resources Develop, implement, coordinate, promote and evaluate safety programs. Investigate and resolve safety issues. Prepares written safety and health programs and policies. Participates in new product/process reviews, including process hazard analyses, operator training, etc. Develop and Coordination of training programs related to EH&S. Coordinate Environmental Management System and Compliance obligations. Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker’s compensation claims. Supports plant personnel in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment. Identifies company safety training needs, develops, and coordinates safety-training programs. Supports corporate/plant engineering to implement engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards. Understands federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and monitors regulatory changes as they occur. Promotes safety and health awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters and specific training programs. Audits practices and records of manufacturing plants to ensure compliance with company programs and federal/state occupational safety and health regulations. Reviews injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary. Lead collection and maintenance of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) metrics for recycling programs: such as Paper, Waste Liquid, Oil Sorbents, Batteries, Scrap Metal Manage risk assessments and regularly conduct training needs analysis. Required to maintain safety data sheet updates and collections for both plant and Research & Development department. Responsible for
ISO 14001 & 45001
audits: lead representative, leader in corrective actions, follow-ups on corrective actions for closure. Leads implementation and maintenance of EMS Programs such as: Oil Sorbent and Killed Manifests Maintains the Department of Environment Compliance requirements. Accountable for collecting and maintenance of waste manifests and killed manifests. Responsible for all environment internal auditing and labeling of secondary containers.

Must have knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations Must have good verbal and written communication skills with presentation experience Ability to work with minimum supervision Must have strong problem solving skills Must be able to spend 50 to 60% of time on production floor All employees will receive training in our ISO management systems, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001: 2015 and
ISO 9001
2015; as well as all OSHA & Safety required trainings in accordance with their job duties/department. All employees are required to adhere to the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements on production floor set forth by the EHS & Management Team. Employees are required to wear 3 forms of PPE when entering production: Safety Glasses-ANSI Z87 Ear Plugs Safety Shoes-steel toe, Composite, Alloy -Shoe covers are meant for visitors only and are not acceptable as safety shoes for employees unless approved by safety. Dependent on the station/department that the employee works, more PPE can be required.
