EHS Technician ( Nights ) Suniva Inc. Norcross, GA 30092 Summary The EHS Technician is responsible for ensuring workplace safety, environmental compliance, and the overall health and well-being of employees. The role involves monitoring and implementing safety programs, procedures, and policies to maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities:
Safety Compliance:
Monitor and enforce safety policies and practices to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements. Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and recommend improvements to prevent future occurrences.
Environmental Compliance:
Assist to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including waste disposal, air and water quality standards, and hazardous materials handling. Monitor environmental impact through regular inspections and testing of work processes and environmental conditions. Assist in maintaining proper documentation for environmental reports and certifications.
Health and Wellness:
Assist in promoting and implementing health and wellness programs for employees. Ensure the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials to protect employee health and well-being. Provide training to employees on proper ergonomic practices, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other health-related matters.
Training and Awareness:
May Conduct safety training sessions for employees on proper procedures for working with hazardous materials, machinery, and in high-risk environments. Assist in maintaining training records to ensure all employees have received the necessary safety and environmental training. Educate employees on the proper use of safety equipment and the importance of adhering to safety regulations.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of inspections, training sessions, and safety audits. Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports for compliance purposes (e.g., OSHA logs, environmental reports).
Emergency Response:
Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans for fire, chemical spills, and other incidents. Respond to emergencies, accidents, and environmental hazards, providing first aid or coordinating with emergency services as needed. Ensure that all emergency response equipment is maintained and ready for use. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications safety preferred. 1 year experience in manufacturing environment. Knowledge of OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and general safety practices. Ability to perform safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard analyses. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience with safety management software and data tracking tools, a plus.
Working Conditions:
Able to lift safety equipment up to 50 lbs on occasion Work may be performed indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions. Exposure to noise, dust, and potentially hazardous materials is possible; proper safety equipment and protocols must be used.
