Job Description

Health & Safety Advisor – CSP/ASP Certification 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars 613 Elma G Miles Parkway, Hinesville, GA 31313 The Health & Safety Advisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing assigned projects, and other project work sites and activities with respect to Health, Safety and Environmental.

Area Includes:

Hinesville GA, Vidalia GA and Douglas

GA PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for leading and directing the environmental, health and safety activities for water, wastewater, and public works operations in at designated projects.

Responsibilities include:

Practice safe working techniques and re-enforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the Company. Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the project level to ensure a common and effective approach; Responsible for assisting in the identification of possible losses; evaluating the risk in such loss exposure; developing and implementing a plan to correct or prevent a loss and audit the plan to ensure its effectiveness. Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected. Responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating regulatory programs and its applications and help support the compliance process; Review accidents and incidents which occur in the area of responsibility, assist or lead as necessary in corrective action development, and completion verification. Conduct field audits develop corrective actions and assist, as necessary with implementation and verify completion of corrective actions. Maintain knowledge of new regulations and standards as they are introduced and/or changed that impact company operations. Assist in developing and implementing an EHS training matrix and ensure required training is completed for employees at projects. Assisting in conduct training for management, field employees, and contractors regarding applicable EHS programs and procedures. Develop, provide, and continuously improve on EHS and DOT Training programs that remain relevant to EHS initiatives. Responsible for other Environmental regulatory and reporting requirements (non core) including but not limited to EPCRA, RCRA, SPCC, RMP and other applicable air and waste regulations. Ensure employees and vehicles regulated by DOT are identified and included in the program. Assist with managing workers compensation, auto and other applicable insurance programs. Assist with managing the EHS web based systems, including the Learning Management and Incident Management Systems. Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong organizational skills Demonstrated effective communication skills both oral and written Proficiency in the use of personal computers Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and 18001 Previous experience with development of Standard Operating Procedures EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree and 3-7 years of experience in safety management or an equivalent combination of education and experience

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver’s license CSP, ASP, or safety certification preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to travel to all project plants and process areas as well as any additional project work areas. Sitting, standing, walking on uneven ground, up and down stairs and ladders in process areas, bending and lifting are required to perform job responsibilities.
