Safety Coordinator 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars La Place, LA 70068 Job Summary The Safety Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment within the organization. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and policies that align with industry standards and regulations. The Safety Coordinator will work closely with management and employees to promote a culture of safety, reduce workplace hazards, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation requirements. Duties Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards. Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Provide training to employees on occupational health and safety practices, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Monitor and report on compliance management activities, including incident investigations and risk assessments. Collaborate with construction management teams to build effective safety programs tailored to specific project needs. Maintain records related to safety training, incidents, and compliance documentation. Assist in the development of risk management strategies to minimize workplace injuries and accidents. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to EHS (Environmental Health & Safety). Skills Strong knowledge of compliance management principles related to OSHA regulations. Familiarity with workers’ compensation processes and reporting requirements. Experience in risk management within construction environments. Proficiency in construction management software for tracking safety metrics. Understanding of occupational health standards applicable to various work environments. Excellent communication skills for effectively conveying safety information to diverse audiences. Ability to build relationships with team members at all levels to foster a culture of safety. Strong analytical skills for assessing risks and developing actionable solutions. This role is vital for maintaining a safe workplace while ensuring that all employees are equipped with the knowledge necessary to perform their jobs safely.

$40,000.00 – $45,000.00 per year
