- Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer
- to be located in Raynham, MA
•. This position will also provide support to the Bridgewater, MA facility as well when requested. The Senior EHS Engineer will manage the Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Compliance and Industrial Hygiene Monitoring Programs at the Raynham, MA site to build proactive overall EHS programs. This role supports all aspects of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Management System at the J&J MedTech, Raynham, Massachusetts site. You will serve as an influential member of the Raynham site EHS leadership team, who impacts decision making and takes an active role in promoting cross-site initiatives, partnership and teamwork across various site functions. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a high level of EHS performance for the site
- Provide technical expertise for all EHS programs including industrial hygiene, ergonomics, change control, contractor safety, and emergency preparedness
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations, as well as J&J EHS Standards including Management of Change
- Partner with local management to develop and implement a site Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process to address EHS program deficiencies and ensure EHS regulatory compliance
- Performing required annual EHS program reviews in compliance with Enterprise EHS tactical plans
- Bring global standard methodologies into the site and actively share site perspective, knowledge and lessons learned to contribute and support an outstanding professional level of EHS support
- Set goals/objectives/assignments, provide adequate mentoring/counseling to site functional leaders on EHS programs/processes via dashboards & reports in Raynham
- Develop, review and update required EHS programs in Raynham including, but not limited to: Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout/Hazardous Energy Control, Confined Space Programs, Fire Prevention Programs, Hot Works Program, Machine Safety, Warehouse Safety and Chemical Inventory, Management of Change, etc. Support implementation plans for these programs in Raynham
- Perform ergonomic risk assessments, conduct machine safety risk assessments, and develop job safety analysis for automated and manual job functions in Raynham
- Perform analysis for reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies and J&J’s Enterprise as appropriate and/or required for the Raynham facility
- Perform routine EHS assessments, apply the J&J Program Reviews, Assurance Audit, and Self Assessments to identify program specific deficiencies and areas of risk in Bridgewater
- Lead incident investigations for all reported injuries, including First Aid and Good Saves that are reported in Bridgewater
- Update EHS tools and related self-assessment questions annually to ensure overall compliance with J&J standards for the Raynham facility
- Develop training to address EHS Standards and regulatory requirement compliance across the Bridgewater and Raynham facilities
- Conduct site inspections at the Raynham facility (includes report generation, solution development, action tracking through CURVE reporting system, etc.) where needed (for various EHS programs)
- Conduct relevant industrial hygiene sampling to ensure alignment of sampling campaigns for chemicals, active pharmaceutical ingredients, noise, etc
- Develop comprehensive strategy in Bridgewater to align with company loading dock technical safety standard (risk assessment, wheel restraints, interlock, pedestrian safety, trailer safety, etc.
- Support projects that reduce risk for Serious Injury Fatality (SIF) events, machine guarding projects, ergonomic projects, etc. across both sites (Bridgewater & Raynham)
- General EHS program support (Quality Assurance, Good Save/Incident Investigation and follow-up, resource coordination for key projects, overall EHS compliance maintenance, etc.) at both sites.

Qualifications:

Education:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree is required; advanced degree or focused degree in EHS, Engineering, Science or related field is preferred.

Skills & Experience:

Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience
- Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) experience with emphasis on Chemical Management, Change Control, Risk Assessments and Emergency Response
- Ability to coordinate and lead EHS projects
- Experience identifying, evaluating, and controlling EHS risks in the workplace
- Proven track record to quickly interpret sophisticated regulatory issues and provide recommended course of action
- Proficient in MS SharePoint and MS Office software programs

Preferred:
- Manufacturing/Warehouse experience in a highly regulated environment
- Technical knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
- Supervisory experience
- Technical experience in diverse EHS areas of air, water, hazardous and medical waste, machine safety, and/or chemical handling
- Demonstrated project management skills

Other:
- Certifications in CIH, CHMM, CSP, and/or
ISO 14001
2015 Lead Auditor are preferred

- The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
- $77,000
- $124,200 Additional Description for
Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
