This role involves conducting inspections and maintaining documentation while embodying MHA’s core values of Respect, Integrity, and Compassion. Essential Job Functions Establish and maintain relationships with landlords and housing providers to improve housing options for participants. Assist participants in locating affordable housing in their chosen neighborhoods. Help participants negotiate repairs and maintenance with landlords, following health and housing regulations. Oversee the tracking and re-inspections of MHA-subsidized apartments to ensure compliance with quality standards. Conduct follow-up inspections to confirm adherence to licensing standards from various agencies. Regularly communicate with landlords about maintenance issues and ensure they comply with corrective action notices. Organize and manage paper files as directed by leadership & enter data into Microsoft databases and applications, including Excel. Monitor quality assurance activities such as residential and vehicle inspections. Schedule and document inspections of safety systems like fire extinguishers, assisting with mandated inspections. Use online reporting systems and office applications, participating in training to enhance skills. Identify and report safety hazards, adhering to safety policies. Ensure compliance with the MHA Hazardous Communication Plan. Report any incidents of participant abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities. Serve as the Fire Safety Officer and assist with agency safety training. Requirements Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle. Ability to work independently and in teams, managing time effectively. Strong relationship-building skills and knowledge of housing regulations. Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft applications and computer skills. Compassionate interpersonal skills. Must be at least 21 years old. Education and Experience Preferred bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., human services, psychology). At least three months of experience in housing assistance. Certification in HCV Housing Quality Standards or ability to obtain within two months. CPR/FA Instructor Certification or ability to secure within six months.
