We are seeking a Site SafetyHealth Officer (SSHO) to provide comprehensive safety oversight for a major Air Force Base hangar construction project in Chicopee, MA. This role is ideal for experienced SSHOs with a strong background in
USACE EM-385
compliance and federal construction safety programs.

$50
- 52/hr
Per Diem:
$175/day

40 hrs/week to start Weekend hours available as project ramps up
Project Scope:
This project involves full safety oversight for the demolition of an existing hangar and the construction of a new facility. Work includes procuring and installing long-lead structural steel, metal siding, roofing, new concrete foundations, and floor slabs. The project scope also covers the installation of all utilities, electrical systems, and fire protection systems. The site includes 300 concrete piers, trusses up to 300 LF, and doors reaching 70 feet in height.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct daily site safety inspections and audits in compliance with
USACE EM-385
Monitor demolition, concrete, steel erection, and utility installation activities for OSHA and site-specific compliance Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and weekly safety meetings Maintain all required safety documentation, reports, and RMS entries Collaborate with project leadership to develop and enforce corrective action plans Support incident investigations and root cause analysis
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of EM-385-1-1 and federal construction safety standards Strong understanding of steel erection, concrete, and large-scale structural projects Proficient in RMS reporting and Microsoft Office tools Excellent communication, leadership, and documentation skills
Knowledge Base:
Comprehensive knowledge of federal construction safety programs, large-scale structural steel and concrete projects, and compliance with USACE, OSHA, and Air Force Base safety requirements.
