Mid-level Microsoft Office Administrative experience Bachelor’s degree Manufacturing Communication skills Full Job Description The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and promotes a safe and healthy work environment. The job holder develops and implements EHS programs, conduct audits and inspections, and provide training to employees for our two production sites in Sanford, ME, and Westborough, MA.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the implementation of all federal, state, and local environmental programs (Air, Hazardous Waste, SPCC, Storm Water, etc.) and permits and ensure compliance. Assist in preparing and submitting environmental reports in addition to managing and maintaining all written safety programs and training records, to ensure achievement of plant safety metrics and regulatory compliance. Enforce and evaluate and manage existing safety programs such as LOTO, Respiratory Protection, Hot work, Confined spaces, and Forklift training (etc.) while creating new programs to address existing safety hazards. Support safety efforts by conducting audits and inspections, investigations, reporting statistics, and counseling associates. Analyze injury and illness data, identify and track injury correlation, determine root causes, determine corrective actions and implement changes in policy and practices throughout the organization. Manage OSHA recordkeeping requirements and serve as the Account Administrator for the online Safety Data system. Manage, maintain, and enforce PPE programs and conduct industrial hygiene monitoring as needed. Present and communicate EHS topics to all levels of the organization and maintain confidentiality. Keep abreast of environmental regulations and policies, to ensure the organization’s environmental management policies remain current and relevant.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or higher in EHS related field (Engineering or Chemistry acceptable) required . 3+ years’ experience developing or maintaining EHS programs for manufacturing, chemical, or consumer products in a manufacturing environment preferred . Must have strong organizational and administrative skills. Working knowledge of MS office. In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local OSHA regulations and safety codes. Prior experience with training small to large groups in a professional setting. Must pass pre-employment drug screening. Strong communication and interpersonal skills as you will work one-on-one with all levels of the organization. Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines. Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence, and initiative without daily interaction with management. Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, if required.
