Safety Representative Convextech IT Inc Sanford, ME 04073
Responsibilities:
Inspect work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state and federal safety policies and regulations. Perform safety audits and provide reports. Serve as a catalyst to ensure compliance. Develop and promote a culture that delivers safe workers and a safe work place. Implement accident prevention activities as directed or needed. Act as the technical resource in respective Operating area for HSE and DOT related issues. Conduct safety orientation and training in a timely, professional manner. Deliver quality presentations. Conduct accident investigations on time. Assist in injury/illness case management to limit OSHA recordability. Make internal and external customer service a top priority. Assist Operating area management in executing safety responsibilities and in making safety efforts successful. Provide positive, proactive leadership by example. Recommend safety improvement/accident prevention methods. Work with Operating area management to integrate HSE into daily work procedures. Other duties as assigned by the Safety Manager and Safety Director.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED. Associate’s degree or a degree in Safety or related field preferred. A recognized safety certification a plus. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the utility and/or construction field. Experience in the utility and/or construction field may be substituted with a College degree in Safety or a related field. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA laws and regulations. Current valid driver’s license. Must be able to meet the Company’s driving standards. Able to travel regularly with overnights as needed. Flexibility to work additional hours/weekends as required. Strong supervisory/management skills, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Good time management skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once. Ability to be hands-on, comfortable speaking and presenting to groups. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. Must be able to work independently as well as on a team. Must be able to obtain the Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) certification within 4 years from hire date.

Full-time Pay:
$80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
