Position Overview:
The EHS Coordinator is a predominantly administrative position, responsible for ensuring the organizational compliance requirements are completed in a timely manner. They will assist in the creation and continued improvement of our procedures and standard work ensuring they meet the requirement of the applicable standards and our policies. They will conduct new hire orientations and schedule annual safety training per the training matrix and function specific needs. Major responsibilities fall into several categories:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of EH&S Manager, aid in the development and maintain the company’s Environmental, Safety and Health programs in accordance with corporate policies and/or applicable regulatory requirements. Perform EH&S assessments to ensure facility’s compliance with the Corporation’s environmental health and safety policies and procedures. Assist in the development and implementation of compliant EH&S programs. Review new and current local, state, and Federal EPA regulations & corporate EH&S policies and help implement appropriate programs to ensure compliance. Maintains records to comply with OSHA, local, state, and federal EPA regulations. Update and maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (or Safety Data Sheets), Chemical Inventories, Emission Logs, Employee Training Matrix, etc. Conduct routine inspections, including but not limited to inspections of fire extinguishers, eye wash stations, satellite accumulation storage, etc. as needed Conduct, coordinate and track various training to support company programs. Participate in the investigation of incidents, near misses and property damage incidents. Ensure follow-up is done to minimize future exposure and proper records/documents are maintained Performs other similar tasks and special projects as required and assigned. Be a team player and work with leadership to ensure their EHS needs are met.

Education and Experience:
High school graduate or equivalent; some college preferred. 3-5 years of environmental and safety experience.
Competencies and Skills:
Strong work ethic, ability to manage time and responsibilities effectively and efficiently. Ability to track activity status and report on progress as required. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and project a positive image. Ability to be proactive, think creatively, and effectively troubleshoot and solve problems. Demonstrate integrity, reliability and solid judgment at all times. Must have great attention to detail. Must possess fine-motor skills to work effectively and efficiently with small parts. Working knowledge of Windows environment, Microsoft Word, and Excel recommended. Solid customer service and communications skills, both written and verbal. Ability to implement, communicate, and enforce safety practices and policies.
Physical Demands:
Regular and predictable attendance is required. Some work may be required during “off-hours”. Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Ability to move about facility on regular basis to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Visual and hearing acuity.

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:
General office environment, with some exposure to plant environment, with forklift and other general hazards. Exposure to the outdoors, unstable ground, and some climbing.
