Job Description Job Summary The Sanitation Manager oversees the day-to-day operations surrounding the cleaning and sanitizing process for a one-line poultry processing facility while maintaining compliance with all Company, Regulatory Entities, and Federal and State guidelines, regulations, and laws. Provides the overall coordination, observation and evaluation of the sanitation team(s) and the daily sanitation process.

Job Responsibilities:

Oversees the day-to-day activities through subordinates to ensure that all sanitation employees follow cleaning procedures for production lines and the facility to meet/exceed Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), USDA and FDA guidelines
Partners with Quality Assurance to ensure a food safe and sanitary environment following all specifications and USDA requirements
Assures strict enforcement of all safety, OSHA, FSIS, USDA and HACCP regulations.
Leads or participates in the planning and implementation of process improvements, monitors improvement metrics and solves for reoccurring issues
Manage the master sanitation schedule, ensuring adherence to cleaning protocols and schedules.
Oversee the sanitation of critical production areas and equipment, (e.g. harvesting, evisceration, chiller, cut line, Debone, Cone, rapid, spice, specialty, etc.) to ensure areas meet stringent regulatory sanitary standards
Partner with appropriate vendors to ensure proper titration and chemical effectiveness of chemicals required for proper sanitization
Collaborate with maintenance department on machinery preventative maintenance and repair optimizing life span of equipment
Mentor, coach and ensure required training is up-to-date (e.g. lock-out-tag out, etc), provide feedback regularly on success and opportunities for improvement encouraging career progression
Wear and ensure others wear required personal protective equipment (ppe) in areas where mandatory supporting a zero-accident culture
Perform other related duties as directed Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of

MSDS/ SDS

of chemicals, their interactions, and potential hazards required
Working knowledge of poultry processing food safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, GMP and HACCP
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment using excellent organizational skills and precise attention to detail.
Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, in English with other employees and vendors multi-lingual highly preferred Ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines and managing workload. Education The position requires a High School Diploma/ Equivalent, Associates degree / Technical certificate and HACCP certification preferred Experience Minimum five (5) years’ relevant experience in food manufacturing; experience in poultry industry preferred. Demonstrated three (3) years’ leadership experience including knowledge of timekeeping requirements, policy adherence, conflict resolution and the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.

Processing Plant While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to chemicals and a cold and humid environment. Ability to stand and move about the facility and be able to work non-standard shifts (weekend, holiday, and/ or extended) to meet business requirements.
