Overview:
We are seeking a Safety lead for our client to be in the field ensuring safe construction practices at a data center. The Safety Lead will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, implementing safety policies, and maintaining a safe and secure work environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement, and enforce safety protocols and policies in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company standards. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of the data center and surrounding facilities, identifying and addressing potential hazards or safety risks. Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and ensure corrective actions are taken when necessary. Lead and coordinate safety training programs, including new hire orientation, emergency response procedures, and ongoing safety awareness sessions for employees and contractors. Investigate and report workplace accidents, incidents, or near-misses, and collaborate with relevant teams to implement preventive measures. Act as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters and provide guidance on compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety standards. Maintain detailed safety records, reports, and logs, ensuring documentation is up to date and accessible for audits or reviews.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in construction safety management within an industrial, technical, or data center environment preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience on a large scale data center project. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental health and safety standards, and best practices in safety management. Ability to conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and develop effective safety policies and procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence others on safety best practices. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
Previous experience in a data center environment or similar facilities. First Aid and CPR certification.
