Position Summary The primary responsibilities of this position include planning, developing, implementing, and administering safety/injury prevention programs. The Injury prevention specialist provides guidance, tools, and assistance as clients establish systems and processes within their own organizations, facilities, or departments to reduce the risk of employee injury, while supporting the client organization’s evolution toward a safety culture. Interfacing with other management and hourly personnel regarding safety issues is also imperative in this position in order to reduce accidents/incidents and maintain safety at ECU Health. This position will assist in development/leading employee safety injury prevention committee and participate in the EOC. Responsibilities Assist in the development, implementation, and administration of an employee safety training program and accident prevention methods and carry them out according to company programs and policies.
Maintain a safety atmosphere in order to promote safe work practices and a positive safety culture.
Incident and near miss analysis and follow-up processes.
Interface with safety/worker’s comp teams to coordinate efforts and attend team meets as a safety resource.
Creates and facilitates employee training intended to evolve awareness and ownership of employee injury risk reduction.
Demonstrates measurable improvement in employee safety and injury reduction or maintain best in class performance.
Use professional safety tools/knowledge such as ergonomics, management skills, industrial hygiene, presentation skills, etc. to convey and improve safety at ECU Health. Minimum Requirements Four year college degree
- or higher
- in a health related field is required. 1
- 3 years health, safety, or injury prevention experience required.
Data management system/process management experience recommended.
