Full Job Description Job Description:
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist plays a key role in advancing the EHS strategy across Kisco’s East Coast communities. Reporting directly to the Director of EHS, this role is responsible for promoting a proactive safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing safety programs across all three Kisco brands. The EHS Specialist partners with community leaders to implement initiatives related to disaster preparedness, incident management, inspections, and ongoing training and education, ensuring the highest safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Support & Consultation Serve as the EHS operational resource for assigned communities. Coach and support community safety leaders and operations teams on all safety-related matters. Compliance & Risk Management Monitor compliance with OSHA, local/state regulations, and internal policies. Manage risk assessments and ensure consistent application of safety standards. Oversee safety committee operations, incident consultation, and emergency preparedness programs. Training & Education Develop and deliver training programs to enhance associate knowledge of safety processes and preparedness. Support communities with drills, inspections, and education on risk mitigation. Audit & Remediation Conduct community-level safety audits and identify gaps. Develop and implement corrective action plans to address deficiencies. Continuous Improvement Lead efforts to incorporate lessons learned into daily practices. Identify trends and proactively drive initiatives to improve safety outcomes. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Environmental Services, Care Services, and other departments to maintain a safe and healthy environment. Professional Development Stay current with industry best practices, emerging EHS science, and regulatory changes. Other Duties Perform additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in EHS, ideally within senior living, healthcare, or multi-site environments. Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, risk management, and emergency preparedness. Experience with safety audits, compliance programs, and cross-functional training. Ability to travel up to 50% across assigned East Coast communities. This position is located in an East Coast Kisco Cluster market.

ASP (Associate Safety Professional) CSP (Certified Safety Professional) CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) ARM (Associate in Risk Management)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
