What you will do:

In this role you will help save lives by assisting in the inspection of fire alarm equipment. You will also be stepping onto a noble career path – to be a life safety professional. Fire Alarm Inspector with conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines.

How you will do it:

Assisting our customers to keep their buildings and occupants safe and compliant by inspecting and testing fire alarm systems and associated devices to make sure they are fully functional and operational. Complete Inspection reports and documents with proper coding through communication devices such as laptop computers and/or hard copy. Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule. Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents via laptop computer. Complete assigned inspections on time. Perform duties with the safety of yourself and your colleagues and customers in mind 100% of the time – attention to performing work in a safe way is of the utmost importance to Johnson Controls. Perform other duties as assigned.

What we look for:

Required Demonstrate a high level of customer service. Ability to work well with others. Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Basic computer skills – Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook) along with strong usage of Smartphone (Apps/ Platforms). Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 30 lbs. Must be able to climb ladders and willing to work with scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet. Understanding this may include working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings etc. Ability to work flexible hours including alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer requirements. Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times. Desire to take and then successfully complete the Inspector Entrée Course (Electrical) and OSHA requirements provided by company training. Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements. Experience in retail, insurance adjusting, inventory or order management a plus. Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test. Preferred Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and operational/product manuals. Experience with hand tools and barcode scanners. Successfully obtain NICET Level II License within 1 year of employment, supported by company provided training.
