Qualifications:
High School Diploma/Equivalent required Minimum three (3) years previous work experience in health & safety is required A working understanding of federal, state and local safety requirements including OSHA Ability to obtain and maintain OSHA-30 Hour Certification within one (1) year of hire Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation Interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and leadership Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Essential Responsibilities:
Develops, maintains, and enhances organizational safety systems, programs, and initiatives to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards. Responsible for coordinating safety training programs, including but not limited to, personal safety, active shooter and other educational trainings for employees to ensure they understand and follow safety procedures and know how to respond to various situations they may encounter. Prepares audits and reports to monitor and track trends relating to safety incidents, accidents, and near-misses. Partner with Property Management Leadership and Occupational Health Staff to review audits and reports to determine root causes, training needs, and determine appropriate corrective actions. Maintains accurate records of trainings, incidents, near-misses, investigations, and corrective actions and prepares reports for leadership and regulatory agencies. Communicates safety information to employees, contractors and other stakeholders and coordinates with other programs and external parties as needed. Partners with appropriate parties to assist with policy/procedure creation, revisions, and enhancements in the Agency Safety Policy Manual. Stays up to date on state and federal health and safety regulations in order to ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations, standards and guidelines and that Agency policies/procedures are current and compliant with OSHA and State Boards of Health. Conducts safety orientation and related trainings as needed. Assists with the development and implementation of on-site emergency response plan and overseeing an emergency preparedness program (e.g. weather emergency, active shooter). Participates in the Safety Committee and other committees as assigned. Coordinates orders of safety materials and supplies for the workplace.

Hours Per Week Compensation :
