JOB MISSION
: New Balances Manufacturing Safety Coordinator works under the direction of the Plant Manager to support safety initiatives within the site(s) by auditing for safe work practices, improving behavior-based safety through observation and ensuring completion of improvement activities. Tracks, monitors and reports on plant safety metrics and improvement activities.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITES
Lead bi-weekly associate and leadership safety meetings to review incidents, risks, priorities and action plans Review incident and near miss reporting to ensure completeness, action items and ensure follow through to closure Conduct daily safety walks and performs safety audits on the floor to identify safety risks/hazards and elevates issues to leadership through daily meetings. Assists to drive safety consistency and standardization of process and requirements Conducts safety training for new hires and existing associates on a monthly/periodic basis- tracks and reports on progress Provides technical and ergonomic support to improve manufacturing workstation design/process and leads safety improvement activities Coordinates with EH&S on implementation of new programs, Industrial Hygiene testing and other safety requirements.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS 3-5
years professional and or manufacturing work experience in a volume production environment, preferably the shoe industry with LEAN manufacturing OSHA 10 Hour General Industry and Ergonomics training – prior completion or completion within 6 months of role Experience and dedication to implementing safety improvements and measuring success. Demonstrated ability in project management. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but may be substituted with at least 4 years of previous leadership skills in a manufacturing environment.
