Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director, Safety & Security – Port Liberty Bayonne, the Safety & Security Administrator provides administrative support to the Safety team in both our Bayonne, NJ and Staten Island, NY locations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Safety & Security Administrator’s position duties and responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following items: Provide administrative support to the Director, Safety & Security and Safety Management Team. Assist with onboarding processes related to safety orientations and requirements. Support special projects related to safety initiatives and compliance. Maintain and update safety training records, certifications, and compliance documentation. Provide and maintain statistical data, reports and analysis of accident/incident trends to operations in support of accident reduction goals and continuous improvement of workplace health & safety. Assist in the coordination of safety meetings, training sessions, and site audits. Prepare reports, presentations, and safety communications as needed. Maintain safety and security manuals, reviewing and updating annually to ensure compliance. Review insurance equipment in contracts for compliance with insurance program standards Set up and maintain insurance claim records and documentation Maintain Excel spreadsheets for tracking miscellaneous items Support the Safety Team’s general document control needs Respond to inquiries and requests for information in an appropriate manner. Maintain accurate records. Maintain strict confidentiality and data integrity at all times. Assist in implementing and maintaining an ISO standards program.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Employee must develop rapport with all levels of employees and external persons. Employee must be able to effectively utilize Microsoft applications specifically Outlook, Excel and Word. Employee must use well-developed oral and written communication/interpersonal skills for work with internal and external persons. Employee must be highly detail-oriented and well-organized to keep accurate records. Ability to manage multiple priorities is necessary. Employee must be able to communicate effectively in English. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or higher; College Degree preferred. Self-motivated with the ability to solve problems logically and quickly Strong computer and phone communication and utilization skills Consistent demonstration of a high level of confidentiality, integrity and professionalism Marine terminal experience a plus. Recent grads with the right tools given strong consideration.

This position will work primarily in an office environment however the individual must be accustomed to working in a container terminal environment. TOOLS and
EQUIPMENT
The employee must have excellent skills with office computer systems including the use of spreadsheets, word processors, databases, and email. The employee must be proficient in using various computer programs and capable of working in a Computerized Safety Reporting System.
WORK HOURS
Typical working hours will be 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM with an office located at our Bayonne Terminal.
