  • P is responsible for delivering safe and efficient qualitynursing care to patients.

This role involves examining patients,administering prescribed medicine, and facilitating healing andcomfort. The position requires advanced knowledge of operationalprocedures and tools, obtained through extensive work experienceand vocational or technical education.

How you will contribute:
  • Work under limited supervision for non-routine situations
  • Leaddaily operations and train, delegate, and review the work oflower-level employees
  • Examine patients and administer prescribedmedicine
  • Ensure accurate patient records by documenting medicalhistory
  • Apply patient safety protocols in care settings
  • Performphlebotomy tasks such as blood draws following establishedguidelines
  • Conduct electrocardiography tasks, understanding basicoperational procedures
  • Utilize medical terminology appropriatelyin patient care situations
  • Respond to medical emergenciesfollowing center SOPs
  • Assess donor eligibility based on medicalhistory and physical examination findings Skills andqualifications:

You will report to the PlasmaCenter Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist(Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. About the role:

Every day, the donors you meet will motivateyou. The high-quality plasma you collect will become life-changingmedicines. Here, a commitment to customer service and quality isexpected. You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma,management of donor adverse events, review of laboratory testresults, and donor notification of unsuitable test results. TheMedical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under theguidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable)for operational guidance and under the management of the CenterPhysician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist willbe familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or amanufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist followsguidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides centerlevel support of environmental, health and safety (EHS). How youwill contribute

  • You will determine donor eligibility; to include,proper management of informed consent, AIDS education andconfidential self-exclusion, medical history interview andacceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, andreviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
  • You willevaluate donor reaction(s), which occurs at the facility asoutlined in the SOPs. Follow applicable SOPs for medicalemergencies including the development of Center Physician’sstanding orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
  • You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (asapplicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings todonors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues,including donor safety and eligibility.
  • You will support theHepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees asapplicable.
  • You will manage employee incidents and determinewhether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER.Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
  • You can be aPandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and supportinvestigations associated with pandemic threats within the localcommunity as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.

What you bring to

Takeda:
  • High school diploma or equivalent to including graduateequivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with staterequirements
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state whereresponsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
  • CurrentCardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
  • Fulfillstate requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
  • Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements forBioLife Medical Support Specialist
