Position summary:
The Facilities
- PMCM department is searching for a Construction Safety and Health (CM-CHST) Professional to perform duties in Butler, PA.
The candidate shall have the capability to perform Construction Safety Reviews, monitoring a contractor’s adherence to standards in order to meet the safety, health and environmental requirements of the client. Other requirements include the responsibility for identifying and mitigating hazards, implementing safety programs, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Essential functions and responsibilities Investigate and document incidents, reporting incidents to medical management team and insurance carriers.
Track and Trend incident and accident statistics and suggest mitigation strategies.
Provide historical data for individual clients as needed for prequalification of contract and subcontract work.
Assist in the creation of client-specific or project-specific safety plans as required.
Monitor and inspect employee activities and worksites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and safe work practices, providing on-the-spot safety coaching as needed.
Consult with supervisors and workers on the practical application of safety principles, practices, or techniques in the field. Nonessential functions and responsibilities Perform other related duties as assigned Required Skills Proficient written and verbal communication skills

Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment Required Experience Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or be able to attain this certification within 90 days of contract award and three (3) years of
construction industry safety program management experience
Or, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) with at least two (2) years of construction industry safety program management experience
Or,Bachelor’s degree in safety and health from an accredited university or college and have three (3) years construction industry safety program management experience
OSHA 30 and a specialized formal course in the hazard recognition control associated with high hazard work operations such as operations involving asbestos, electrical, cranes, demolition, working at heights/fall protection, fire safety/life safety, ladder, rigging, scaffolds, and trenches/excavations Preferred Experience Construction safety and health experience with a focus on medical facilities
Experience working with governmental agencies at the city, county and state levels Working Conditions Work is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment. Office to field time is approximately 25% to 75% respectively. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required.
