Reference #: 233289Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist needed for a Contract/Contract to Hire opportunity with SOC’s client to work onsite in Philadelphia, PA.
Contract Length:
6-7 months, likely to convert to client FTEThis position starts in the Philadelphia, PA office, but will move to the Camden, NJ office around November or December.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring company environment, health and safety (EHS) programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental health and safety regulations.
Work to reduce company risk and liability in all aspects of EHS.Assists in a variety of duties to include, sampling, observations, training and inspections.
Works with stakeholders in the organization during space planning, building expansions and/or other changes in facilities or work areas to ensure EHS requirements and regulations are met.
Assists with root cause analysis when EHS incidents occur and recommends corrective action where environmental, health and safety hazards exist.
Responsible for monitoring and driving sustainability initiatives.
Conduct and document weekly safety walks with leadership team.
Support ergonomic assessments and injury prevention efforts.
Provide proactive safety engagement on the manufacturing floor.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (ideally in an engineering or technical field) with minimum 2-5 years of EHS experience OR 6+ years of EHS experience if no Bachelor’s Degree.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA labor standards.
Understand any ergonomic work to prevent injuries.
Engaging/able to work closely with people.
Attention to detail.
Collaborative, works well with others.
