Occupational Health and Safety Specialist Rhode Island Interlocal Risk Management Trust 501 Wampanoag Trl, Riverside, RI 02915 What you’ll be doing The Trust has an exciting opportunity for someone with occupational health and safety experience. As a member of the Loss Prevention team, you will help contribute to a dynamic organization, dedicated to providing the highest quality risk management and insurance programs for Rhode Island’s cities, towns, school districts, and public sector entities. Our team provides loss prevention programs, training, and resources to our Members. We work collaboratively, serving as trusted advisors and helping to promote a positive safety culture, while reducing the frequency and severity of claims. You will be our team’s specialist in occupational health and safety, and play a critical role supporting our Members with workplace injury prevention. You will be responsible for… Conducting on-site visits to assess hazards and risks related to worker and workplace safety, providing recommendations and improvement strategies Promoting awareness of and adherence to industry standards, workplace safety regulations, and safe work practices, helping Members create or update safety manuals, programs, and processes Participating in Member safety committees, supporting proactive and remedial safety initiatives Developing safety-related training programs, awareness campaigns, and resource materials Assisting Members with accident/incident investigations, including root cause analysis and preventative measure recommendations Analyzing industry wide and Member specific workers’ compensation loss trends and risk exposures to prioritize and address problem areas and emerging needs Providing exemplary customer service to Members through regular and meaningful interactions Collaborating with other Trust departments and Loss Prevention team members to address Member needs and achieve organizational goals What you can expect in this role Full-time, 35 hours/week, salary

East Providence, RI Travel required within RI to our Member locations What skills & experience we’ll need from you Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, or a related field BCSP credentialing or similar professional designations preferred Minimum 3 years of experience in workplace safety, loss prevention, or risk management preferred Motivated self-starter with a customer-focused approach, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively Strong attention to detail, with proven ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and prioritize Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook email and calendar Knowledge of workplace safety regulations, standards, and best practices
