Collaborates with the Industrial Hygiene (IH) Supervisor in maintaining an effective Industrial Hygiene Program at Centerra-SRS by utlizing the hierarchy of controls of anticipation, recognization, evaluation, and control, in order to comply with federal and DOE regulations. Helps manage an effective IH Program by conducting sampling activities and adhering to, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Energy (DOE), American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations and standards. Calibrates and utilizes IH sampling equipment to perform routine/baseline personnel/area exposure assessments. IH sampling includes but is not limited to airborne contaminants, noise, and thermal stressors. Submits chains-of-custody, purchase requests, and/or shipping orders to prepare samples for off-site independent laboratory analysis. Interprets Occupational Exposure Limits (OELS) and performs data entry into the Open Range database with all applicable exposure information. Submits employee notifications based on exposure data by interpreting OELS to include the ACGIH Threshold Limit Values (TLV) and/or OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL). Oversees the Respiratory Protection Program serving as the primary respiratory protection fit test technician. Conducts annual respirator fit tests, utilizes respirator fit test equipment, cleans respirators, maintains records concerning respiratory protection and performs maintenance and repairs on respirators. Must adhere to the responsibilities as defined Procedure 1-3129, 29 CFR 1910.134, and 29 CFR 1910.134, Appendix D. Submits respirator fit test results daily to the Training Division along with any additions/removals from the Restriction List. Transports Universal/Hazardous Waste and recyclable materials to Central Accumulation Areas on site for recycling/reuse. Communicates and provides assistance to Chemical Custodians and serves as the Health and Fitness Department (HFD) custodian to ensure Safety Data Sheet books and inventories are current. Facilitates efforts in conducting the Annual Tier II Chemical inventory and managing Centerra’s Satellite Accumulation Areas. Participates as a team member for the Annual

Audit. Ensures compliance by performing surveillances and assessments in an effort to maintain an effective IH Program. Must perform all responsibilities for environment, safety and health as defined in Procedure 1-3100 and adhere to the principles and functions of Integrated Safety Management.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities & Other Requirements:
Associate’s degree in science, environmental health, safety, industrial hygiene, biological, or other applicable field. One year of experience in a health, science, environmental, industrial hygiene, or safety position. Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills. Must be able to obtain/maintain a DOE “L” security clearance.
