Who You Are:

As a Safety Specialist you will develop, implement and administer workplace Health and Safety programs to reduce incidents, maintain compliance and instill a culture of Safety excellence at UECo. This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer and collaborates effectively with all departments throughout the organization. You will be a first responder for internal incidents and emergencies and you will represent UECo with external regulatory agencies ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local safety regulations. Life:

Administer safety and health programs to ensure the organization meets compliance requirements with OSHA standards. This includes analyzing, implementing, evaluating, training, auditing and monitoring of Safety and Health Program elements. Spearhead the development of Safety and Health policies, practices and procedures. Execute initiatives leading to sustainable process improvements in Safety and Health programs. Conduct Job Hazard Analysis of job functions to identify the engineering, procedural, administrative and PPE solutions to minimize or eliminate hazard exposure. Lead incident investigation activities through training and participating in investigations as a resource to ensure that all investigations are thorough, root causes are identified, action items are created, and reporting is completed. Maintain Safety and Health records and prepare material for inspections, hearings and insurance investigations if required. Administer Safety and Health training with a commitment to designing training, facilitating training sessions and tracking employee compliance. Acts as a first responder to any injury or emergency situation that may arise. Performs and coordinates first aid, emergency care, and follow up medical visits. Coordinates, tracks and records to ensure proper care for our employees and proper documentation for OSHA reporting. Analyze incident data (injury, near miss, first-aid, etc.) to identify areas of high-risk and develop processes to address them. Develops secondary skills related to hazardous waste management and environmental compliance. Responds to hazardous waste emergencies and cleanup activities. Performs duties related to compliance with environmental regulations and actively keeps up with changes to regulatory requirements. Positively drives a safety culture and integrates Safety, Environmental and Health into production and office environments. Take a hands-on, on-the-floor approach to analyzing and auditing Environmental, Health and Safety programs and processes to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities. Success:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in Safety, or related field Background in emergency response, medical and/or fire, is a plus First Aid/CPR/AED certified Knowledgeable in

OSHA, EPA, DHEC/DES, RCRA

regulations is a plus Strong organizational skills, including written/verbal communication and creative problem solving. Strong attention to detail and ability to focus when prioritizing multiple projects.
