Transportation Safety Assistant (Part-Time) Palmetto State Transportation Greenville, SC 29611 Palmetto State Transportation is a growing transportation company focused on safety, reliability, and professionalism. We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Part-Time Safety Assistant to support our safety department and ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations and company policies. Key Responsibilities Assist with maintaining and organizing driver qualification files Monitor and track DOT medical certificates, licenses, and training renewals Input and manage data in safety and compliance software Schedule safety training and orientation sessions Perform audits of logs, vehicle inspection reports, and ELD data Help with accident/incident investigations and documentation Communicate with drivers regarding safety concerns and compliance reminders Dir. of Safety and H.R. with general administrative tasks Help in recruting new Drivers Qualifications Prior experience in transportation safety or administrative support (preferred) Familiarity with FMCSA regulations and DOT compliance (a plus) Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent communication and computer skills (MS Office, Excel, etc.) Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree preferred) What We Offer Flexible schedule Opportunity to gain experience in the trucking and transportation industry Supportive work environment with potential for growth On-the-job training provided
