Position Description Advertised Job Summary The Research Assistant supports the mission of the Excellence in Policing & Public Safety Program by conducting high-quality research and analysis related to leadership, policy, training, and best practices in law enforcement. This role involves assisting in the development of evidence-based resources, program evaluations, training assessments, and scholarly and trade publications aimed at enhancing the professional development of public safety practitioners. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in law, criminal justice, public policy, or related fields.

Job duties:
Research & Data Analysis:

Conduct literature reviews on topics relevant to public safety practices, criminal justice reform, andanizational leadership and development.

Program Evaluation & Assessment:

Assist in evaluating professional development programs for public safety executives through pre- and post-assessments, interviews, and performance metrics. Compile evaluation reports to inform program improvements and oues. &

Publication Support:

Contribute to the drafting of research briefs, technical bulletins, legal bulletins, grant proposals, and academic publications. Assist with formatting and citation management for program publications. Administrative & Project Support Coordinate research logistics, including scling, digital data files, and preparing presentation materials. Attend and support meetings, conferences, and professional development sessions as needed. Qualifications JD with police research experience strongly preferred.
