Job Duties:

The Safety Management Support Coordinator provides support planning, implementing, developing, and coordinating comprehensive safety practice programs by providing quality consultation and technical assistance within the Child Welfare Services Safety Division, four (4) program areas – Intake, OHAN, Assessment and Planning, and Human Trafficking on County and State level, by promoting adherence to DSS policies and procedures, agency mission, and the GPS Practice Model. Coordinates and monitors program design, implementation and daily administrative activities for staff in the Child Welfare Services Safety office. Assists the Child Welfare Services Safety Director with project management as assigned, which includes conducting special projects at management’s request. Collaborates and consults with CAPSS technical staff related to the Child Welfare Services Safety Office programs. Coordinates the state’s investigations program serving as a subject matter expert for county and state. Leads department work on improving its investigations practices, stays current on prevention practices and their intersections with child welfare systems. Researches, develops, and analyzes best practice improvement innovations to strengthen safety practice, knowledge, skills and competencies for Child Welfare staff. Drafts and revises practice guides and policy related to safety practices and the Child Welfare Services Safety Office (Intake, OHAN, ongoing safety case management) in accordance to the values, guiding principles and core practice skills of the GPS Practice Model. Works collaboratively with agency work-groups to implement statewide Safety program improvements strategies such as CFSR PIP, Michelle H etc. Maintains child welfare certification. Completes 20 hours of training yearly to include certifications that are required yearly is encouraged to attend and participate to assist with skills and development growth. Performs other related duties as required. Minimum and Additional Requirements A Bachelor’s Degree in any other field and three (3) years of professional experience in human services or social service programs.
