Job Summary:
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting, administering, and coordinating the environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) program across assigned sites. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. The Safety Coordinator will serve as a resource for site leadership and employees, helping to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all.
Essential Job Functions:
Serve as the primary EH&S resource across assigned sites, providing guidance and support as needed. Assist in identifying potential safety, health, and environmental hazards; collaborate with the EHS Manager to implement training and improvement initiatives aimed at reducing risk. Participate in and support site safety meetings, ensuring proper documentation and attendance records are maintained. Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations; communicate updates and changes to site leadership. Conduct routine site inspections and audits, documenting findings and working with appropriate stakeholders to implement corrective actions. Ensure all safety policies and procedures are in place and consistently followed by all team members. Provide guidance and support to the site Safety Committee on all health and safety-related matters. Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents, helping to identify root causes and develop corrective action plans. Partner with the EH&S Manager to ensure all safety training and retraining is effectively delivered and tracked. Support the implementation of corporate safety initiatives, including safety action plans and business objectives. Contribute to the development and communication of safety messages and safe work practices throughout the organization.
Additional Responsibilities:
Actively participate in cross-functional team initiatives and continuous improvement efforts. Support employee onboarding by facilitating safety training sessions and workshops. Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports as required. Attend and actively participate in required meetings, trainings, and other assigned activities.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of applicable federal and state OSHA regulations. High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Ability to work collaboratively and foster teamwork across departments. Skilled in facilitating meetings and safety discussions. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with data management systems is a plus.
