Job Description

Safety Coordinator Charter Construction 4504 Kentucky Avenue, Nashville, TN 37209 Description Charter Construction is a full-package concrete contractor that operates primarily in Middle Tennessee, working on a large variety of concrete-framed commercial structures. Charter is currently seeking a highly skilled Safety Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in recognizing and adhering to safety and health regulations by both state and federal laws. Responsibilities Ensures that Environmental, Safety and Health inspections, audits, investigations and reporting are carried out to adhere to Federal regulations, laws and the policies of Charter Construction, Inc. Complete weekly compliance reports. Participate in coordinating safety training sessions for all employees. Lead or participate in safety meetings while consistently encouraging employee involvement. Provide recommendations for policies and procedures aimed at minimizing risk. Support lead safety coordinators in overseeing the Environmental Safety & Health Program for Charter Construction, by focusing on proactive, data driven improvements prioritized by risk assessments and hazard mitigation. Ensure employees are proficient in identifying hazards relevant to their specific job tasks. Additional responsibilities may be deemed necessary by Management. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Bilingual (English and Spanish) Valid driver’s license along with a reliable vehicle. Knowledge of OSHA standards and specific construction safety practices. Familiarity with safety equipment and construction site operations. Hazard identification and risk assessment skills. Teamwork, strong communication and training skills. Conflict resolution and interpersonal skills. Incident investigation and reporting ability. Ability to adapt and respond to dynamic site conditions.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. OSHA 30 certification. Proven experience as a construction safety coordinator or similar role for at least 2 years. Prior experience with concrete construction is preferred.
