The Fire Protection Inspector will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of fire protection systems in various buildings to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in fire alarm systems, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive inspections of fire alarm, water-based, and clean agent systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Test and evaluate fire protection equipment including control panels, detectors, annunciators, communication devices, fire sprinkler systems, backflow preventers, suppression systems, etc. Verify system functionality and performance according to manufacturer specifications and relevant codes (e.g., NFPA, local regulations). Document inspection findings, test results, and recommendations accurately and promptly. Communicate inspection results and any required corrective actions clearly to building owners, managers, and authorities having jurisdiction. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on fire protection systems as needed. Stay informed about updates to fire safety codes, regulations, and industry standards. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly.
Qualifications:
Preferred experience in fire alarm, fire sprinkler, backflows, fire pumps and suppression inspections High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification related to fire alarm systems preferred. Preferred of 2 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Inspector or in a similar role. Thorough understanding of fire alarm codes and standards (e.g., NFPA 25 & NFPA 72). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
