POSITION SUMMARY
To be fully engaged in providing Uncompromised Safety, Superior Quality, MemorablePatient/Customer Experiences, and Financial Stewardship through management of securityservices that ensure the safety and security of associates, patients and visitors of Health First Medical Group facilities. The System Security Manager is also responsible for providing management oversight and driving operational accountability through effective change management and leadership development processes and is a liaison with law enforcement agencies. The System Security Manager is also a primary point of contact in addressing human resources-related security issues and may work directly with Human Resources, Health First Medical Group management, associates, patients, or visitors to address security issues.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provides supervision of Security Supervisors as well as oversee staff, scheduling, and training for all security officers Promotes positive working relationships among all departments within Health First entities to ensure customer delight; promptly addresses and resolves any issues with all customers Interviews, selects, onboards and conducts development and performance reviews of direct reports Ensures all direct reports comply with training expectations and meet all annual requirements within designated time frame Models professionalism and Health First I-CARE values in all customer and associate interactions and ensures direct reports do the same Ensures timely communication of IDN and hospital operational updates, department metrics and daily huddle announcements Responsible for general operations management to include: review post orders and make recommendations to System Director when updates should be considered; review daily log reports, provide pass downs as required and provide recommendation on operations, policy and technology applications to plant management, as appropriate Conducts performance reviews including performance improvement plans; oversees Kronos timekeeping/scheduling and approves bi-weekly payroll Conducts weekly inspections of security lighting, door access systems, CCTV, fire alarms and all secure entrances and doors within the building Creates and conducts safety and security training sessions for employees Reviews alarm system open/close reports, compiles exception reports and forwards to appropriate administration for review Mitigates risk for the organization by initiating and performing security investigations throughout company buildings, accurately reports findings to appropriate administration Develops innovative methods of managing departmental operations, utilizing advanced techniques, and maintaining efficiency of processes and staff productivity. Provides security reports to the System Director of all pertinent activities that have occurred in the previous month concerning any security and safety issues Administers Health First Physical Safety Program; semi-annual reviews and revises the security Emergency Response plan; monitors compliance with regulatory and fire prevention requirements and safety items Serves as liaison between HF Medical Group Security and local law enforcement with focus on cultivating relationships with area law enforcement groups Maintains current and thorough knowledge of security threats and the available protective systems Manages and delegates tasks during emergency response operations Creates emergency contingency plans and conduct drills to practice Inspects Security Officer State of Florida required credentials prior to every shift and ensures all weapons are checked in and properly secured at the end of every shift as needed. Responds to emergency calls on site, as needed Maintains required certifications, licensing, weapon qualifications, and training to achieve professional competency as appropriate for the position Work Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduate of Police/Corrections Academy, OR Associates Degree or above in Criminal Justice, OR Career Military, OR Two (2) years verifiable security officer experience
Work Experience:
Minimum (3) years of supervisory or management experience One-year prior Law enforcement experience, OR service in the Elite Military Forces, Military Police, or combat arms preferred
Licensure:
Current, Class “D” Security Officer License, and maintain Current, Class “G” Statewide Firearm License, and maintain Current, valid driver’s license required. State of Florida driver’s license required within 30 days of establishing Florida residency and maintain Clean State of Florida Motor Vehicle Record, and maintain
Certification:
Must hold American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider card prior to start and maintain
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Expected completion of Crisis Prevention Training within first 90 days Calm under pressure and in high-stress environments Familiarity with legal terminology and aspects of security governance Ability to effectively coordinate meetings, investigations, and safety/securityfunctions company-wide Basic mathematical skills to calculate budgets and costs for training, technology, and security systems information Strong communication and language skills, including the ability to clearly communicate verbally with customers of varying levels and in writing Ability to motivate and promote a high level of understanding for safety precautions Ability to work independently Strong diplomacy skills and sensitivity protocol Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Active listening skills Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately Attention to detail Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate Mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to climb up to nine (9) flights of stairs. Must be able to withstand extreme heat and cold. Must be able to listen, speak, walk, stand, bend and stoop for extended periods oftime, for entire 8+ hour shift. Must be able to lift & carry up to 50 pounds.
