Job Description
Responsibilities We are seeking a collaborative Security Director to oversee the overall security processes of the Related Beal portfolio.
This individual is detail-oriented and flexible, with the ability to learn and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
The primary focus for this position is to lead security and oversee the physical safety for Related Beal in Boston, Massachusetts.
This individual will be the forward-facing security lead for all engagement with local, state, and federal law enforcement and fire safety partners in Boston.
The Director of Security will adopt best practices and apply them to daily operations within Related Beal’s assets, oversee security vendors, and manage special events security.
These duties are performed with ethics, moral integrity, and honesty, in compliance with all company policies and procedures and applicable government statutes.
Additionally, the Security Director will foster collaborative relationships with ownership entities, tenants, residents, vendors, and internal partners.
The Related Beal Security Director will serve as the main contact to the Related Corporate Security Team and liaise between asset managers, general managers, and security vendors to handle daily security and safety operations.
The role is based at our Boston office at 177 Milk Street.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Evaluate deployment and sourcing of security technologies; collaborate with the Corporate Security Team to ensure integration and cost-efficiency.
Develop a threat-based security posture based on local crime analysis and liaise with law enforcement agencies.
Participate in meetings with operational teams to address security concerns and recommend improvements.
Review and develop SOPs, Emergency Action Plans, and conduct training and audits.
Serve as the primary POC for law enforcement inquiries and coordinate responses to security incidents.
Coordinate security for special events and oversee security technology deployment on new projects and upgrades.
Manage security vendors, budgets, and ensure compliance and performance standards.
Partner with safety teams on safety initiatives and crisis management plans for construction sites.
Qualifications20+ years in Law Enforcement/Security, with prior supervisory experience.
Strong law enforcement contacts in Boston, MA.Knowledge of corporate security systems and practices.
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with C-suite and staff.
Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degrees preferred.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
