Job Description Are you looking for your next opportunity? Sompo has a unique opportunity for an VP, Global Security to join our Global Real Estate and Facilities team. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive physical security strategy across all Sompo International locations. This role will manage partnerships with external security providers, develop and conduct security training programs, establish company-wide security policies, and oversee travel security for employees. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of at least 10 years in the security field, with strong expertise in physical security, risk assessment, and stakeholder management.

This position will be based out our New York City, Morristown, NJ, Alpharetta, GA, or Charlotte, NC office. Our business, your impact, our opportunity: What you’ll be doing: Physical Security Develop and implement a global physical security strategy to protect Sompo International’s premises, assets, and employees. Design and maintain security concepts, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and company objectives. Oversee relationships with external security providers, ensuring service quality and compliance with agreements. Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions. Security Policies & Training Develop, update, and implement comprehensive security policies, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. Design and deliver security training programs for employees, fostering a culture of security awareness. Regularly review and update training materials to address emerging threats and vulnerabilities. Travel Security Provide security recommendations and risk assessments related to employee travel, ensuring safe travel practices. Develop and maintain a network of global security partners to support travel safety and rapid response in case of emergencies. Monitor geopolitical and local security developments in areas of employee travel and provide timely guidance. Network Development Establish and maintain relationships with external security organizations, industry peers, and regulatory bodies. Build and sustain a global network of security partners to support all aspects of the company’s security operations. Oversight & Advisory Serve as the primary advisor on security matters to senior leadership and other stakeholders. Provide periodic reports on the status of security measures, incidents, and recommendations to enhance safety. Act as the point of contact during security incidents, coordinating responses and ensuring swift resolution. What you’ll bring: Minimum of 10 years of experience in security operations, with a focus on physical security, policy development, and risk management. Proven experience in managing external security providers and building security networks. Expertise in conducting risk assessments, developing security strategies, and implementing policies. Strong knowledge of travel security considerations and global risk landscapes. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and educate employees across multiple regions. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Strong leadership and decision-making abilities. High level of integrity and professionalism. Experience working in multinational organizations is preferred. Certification in security management (e.g., CPP, PSP) is a plus.
Salary Range:
$145,000 – $225,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience. Our compensation program is built on a foundation that promotes a pay-for-performance culture, resulting in higher incentive awards, on average, when the Company does well and lower incentive awards when the Company underperforms. The total compensation opportunity for all regular, full-time employees is a combination of base salary and incentives that gets adjusted upfront based on overall Company performance with final awards based on individual performance.
