The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safety and security of the ASMS campus community, including students, staff, faculty, and visitors. This role involves working as a security guard as well as managing security personnel to ensure compliance with all applicable safety protocols and regulations. The supervisor monitors the overall security operations, implements emergency response plans, and conducts routine inspections of campus facilities to identify potential safety risks. Effective communication and leadership skills are essential, as the role requires working closely with various departments, addressing incidents promptly, and fostering a secure and welcoming environment for all.

Essential Job Functions :
Works with Leadership / Directors on monthly drills and reports. Responsible for training and scheduling security staff; approves timecards and completed evaluations. Monitor the front entrance, control access points, verify identities, and direct all visitors to the reception area. Conduct regular campus patrols to ensure safety and security of premises. Respond quickly to incidents or potential threats. Monitor video surveillance equipment. Report any suspicious activities or incidents to appropriate authorities. Collaborate with authorities during serious situations. Monitors fire alarm systems. Monitors the sewer and pump stations emergency lights. Respond to alarms and security incidents promptly. Maintains security log and complete incident reports. Identifies any maintenance needs and problems while making rounds. Monitors all gates and stays visible while gate is open. Enforce property and parking regulations and guidelines. Focus on continuous improvements for campus security and safety. Must provide assistance to customers and employees when needed.
Required Qualifications :
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Licensed for the state of Alabama. Must have three (3) years verifiable security experience. Candidates should possess a proven track record of managing security operations, as well as strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle high-pressure situations. Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. Must possess a valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience with an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR). As a condition of employment, candidates must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test, may be required to pass Drivers Record check. Intermediate computer skills to utilize innovative wireless technology. Ability to handle both common and crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently. Enforces and complies with policies and procedures of the ASMS Board of Directors.
