The Security Shift Supervisor shall supervise and is responsible for the overall functions and duties of the assigned shift. The Supervisor is responsible for, but is not limited to, assignment of subordinates, inspections of officers, and their duties. Additionally, the Supervisor is responsible to inspect officer incident reports. This individual will report any security failures to Security Site Supervisor. The Supervisor will ensure that preliminary investigations are conducted on all reported incidents occurring during the shift in a timely manner. This individual shall stand at a post when necessary to accomplish the daily mission of the team. The Supervisor will also provide support to other departments within hospital and physicians buildings. This position may have additional duties assigned as needed.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent required. Prior law enforcement experience required.
Two years of prior supervisory experience required.
License / Certification required: Pistol permit required.
Must possess a valid Alabama driver license and acceptable driving record.
Current or former POST certification or DD-214.
Annual Firearms qualification with a minimum score of 70% or higher.
Position requires the officer to wear an approved handgun and qualify annually with a proficiency score of 70% or higher.
Position requires the officer to wear an approved duty belt with issued equipment each work day for the entirety of the shift.
Must be able to walk 60%, stand 25%, sit 15%, run, bend, push wheel chairs, vehicles, lift patient, climb stairs. Frequent use of hands; frequent use of large muscle groups. Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
60% inside hospital walking and standing.
Highly visible dealing with patients, some violent, visitors and staff. 30% outside, in all climates, standing and walking. 10% driving at slow speeds and possible transporting patients, visitors.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Occasional exposure to radiation.
