POSITION REQUIREMENTS LEVEL 1
:
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Security/Law Enforcement experience or Military/active reserve duty desired, but not required.
- During the last five years, applicant must have spent at least two years on a job that required standing/walking for long periods of time.
- Must possess a valid Alabama Driver License and be eligible to be insured by AIDB insurance carriers.
- Must present a positive public image.
- Must be able to deal well with public/people.
- Must possess good communication skills.
- Must be able to follow written communication.
- Must be able to follow instructions.
- Must be highly self-motivated.
- Must have a past work record that demonstrates a high level of integrity and confidentiality.

- Must receive CPR first aid certification within the first (6) months of employment.

SURVIVAL
according to the AIDB evaluation system must be obtained within the first twelve (12) months of employment; a sign language proficiency level of
SURVIVAL PLUS
according to the AIDB evaluation system must be obtained within the first thirty-six (36) months of employment.
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS FOR LEVEL 2
(MUST
MEET ALL IN LEVEL 1
) :
- Minimum two (2) years of security experience on a school campus.
- Minimum two (2) years reviewing and writing security round reports, I&0 reports, and security check reports.
- Experience working with transportation staff to ensure security vehicles are maintained (Vehicle inspection reports, oil change/tires/cleaning, restocking of supplies).
- Must have Mental Health First Aid USA Certification from the National Council for Mental Well Being.
- Must have completed Autism Awareness Training and Certification for Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders within the State of Alabama.
- Must have completed certification in AVERT (Active Violence Emergency Response Training).
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS FOR LEVEL 3
(MUST
MEET ALL IN LEVEL 1 AND 2
- Must have completed NASRO School Security Officer-SSO Training and Certification.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
:
- Report any trespassers to the local law enforcement agency and document accordingly.
- Ensure the security of buildings during special events.
- Answers maintenance calls, access situations, and notify appropriate maintenance/IT. on-call workers with findings.
- Make minor repairs and create maintenance and IT work orders on findings.
- Attend all Safety and Security drills conducted at AIDB facilities.
- Respond to Fire alarms and coordinate with On-call Technicians to reach a resolution.
- Complete investigations and thoroughly report findings.
- Work cooperatively with AIDB personnel to serve students.
- Work cooperatively with local, state, and federal agencies.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops provided to staff, students, and consumers.
- Prepare and submit reports in a timely manner.
- Communicate directives clearly.
- Follow all AIDB rules and regulations, enforces AIDB’s policies and procedures.
- Maintain and enforce traffic and parking regulations.
- Respond to campus security needs.
- Checks buildings, doors, and facilities to ensure security.
- Communicates efficiently on two-way radio, cellular devices, utilize email communications.
- Lock and secure buildings and complete round reports.
- Participate in in-service and professional development training and activities.
- Interact appropriately with clients, staff, students, and families.
- Work a flexible schedule when needed, including nights and weekends Perform other duties as assigned.

Level 1: $15.69
- $18.30 per hour Scale C5 Rank 32 Level 2: $16.33

- Night Shift differential pay of $.50 per hour
- Direct deposit is required.
