Requirements:
Minimum of 60 College Hours or Passing Score on the Paraprofessional Assessment. Background check and child maltreatment check required by law. Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States.
Job Summary:
The Video Security Monitor plays a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of students, staff, and school property. This position is responsible for monitoring live and recorded video surveillance feeds, granting electronic access to the building, and reporting any suspicious activity or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel in a timely and professional manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor live surveillance footage to identify and respond to unusual or suspicious activity. Control and manage access to the main building by allowing authorized students and staff to enter through electronic access doors. Maintain accurate and timely records of incidents and security concerns. Notify school administration or law enforcement immediately in the event of a safety threat or emergency. Collaborate with school staff and administration to ensure a safe environment. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
60 college credit hours OR a passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment. Must pass a criminal background check and child maltreatment registry check as required by law. Must be a U.S. citizen, legal resident, or have a valid work VISA. Strong observational and communication skills. Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods. Familiarity with or willingness to learn video surveillance software and electronic access systems.
Working Conditions:
Indoor position with extended periods of sitting and monitoring screens. May require responding to security issues throughout the building as needed. Regular interaction with students, staff, and potentially law enforcement.
