Job Summary:
This position provides a visual security presence and monitors physical security and safety of students, employees, visitors and facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide church ministries and Calvary Chapel Academy with security and safety support (Psalm 133:1) Monitor the parking lots, especially during evening Bible studies dismissal times Execute emergency procedures as needed and respond quickly to medical situations Maintain a field notebook and accurate reports of any security related incidents Offer measured and appropriate security support to staff working with students (1 Thessalonians 5:11) Assist with the supervision and security of student drop-off and pick-up during school hours at Calvary Chapel Academy Be familiar with Emergency Action Plan and Procedures for the CCM (church) and CCA (school) (1 Chronicles 9:22-23) Interface with local law enforcement as needed (Matthew 5:9) Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed to cover for other security personnel Travel to other campuses as required for work and training Other duties as assigned by Supervisor (Colossians 3:23)
Job Skills and Competencies:
Ability to stay calm in stressful situations, adapting to change and exercising discernment (2 Corinthians 9:8) Must be able to handle large events and gatherings (1 Corinthians 14:33) Possess the physical ability to walk, run, and respond to calls when necessary Be able to write legibly and accurately to document personal reports and records Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills (1 Peter 4:10) Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word Desire to protect people while keeping Christ as the center (Ephesians 4:3) Capable of holding a state D and G license, as well as CPR and First Aid Certificate Pass PA (physical assessment) test
