Advise students regarding academic core and/or departmental requirements, appropriate class selection, academic policies and procedures, campus resources and other items contributing to the student’s success. Provide one-on-one advising to undergraduate students regarding courses, major, academic policies and degree requirements. Assist students with identification of long term goals and career plans, both academically and personally. Guide students to meet requirements for graduation within appropriate periods of time while preparing them to meet future goals. Maintain contact and meet with personnel in the various colleges/academic departments as necessary on topics to include departmental changes in the curriculum, departmental policy changes, schedule adjustments, and other academic concerns as necessary. Utilize advising technology systems to manage student data. Maintain advising records and records of progress towards graduation using degree audit software in collaboration with the Registrar’s office and academic departments as needed.
