Remain fully focused on your security responsibilities and may not engage in any activities related to outside employment that could distract you from your primary duties. Your unwavering attention and commitment are critical to maintaining a safe and secure environment at all times. Provide campus and school security during designated day, evening and/or weekend hours Lock and unlock campus and school gates, buildings, and rooms as needed to access facilities for all events shown on the weekly calendar of events. Evening lockdown of campus and school facilities includes a thorough walk through of all buildings, turning off all lights and securing all interior and exterior doors Be responsible to arm and disarm alarm systems and card reader systems in all buildings and areas of buildings where access is needed for scheduled events Provide routine patrol of the main areas of the campus and maintain a visible presence during assigned work shift to observe and address any security related concerns and provide any needed assistance to staff, students, volunteers, and visitors Document any unusual activities, incidents, injuries, or other pertinent information for review by the Director of Security and other Security Officers. Communicate necessary information to other staff and affected ministries Work together with the Service Oversight, law enforcement officers, church staff, volunteers, CCA and the Facilities Department to provide security for all church services and ministry events Serve as contact person for all campus and school security related issues. The Security Officer carries the Security cell phone and radio to be able to respond to questions or needs throughout their assigned shift Commit to ongoing training to remain current on security procedures Keep confidential matters confidential

Security Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform morning opening and unlocking procedures, which includes unlocking all or selected exterior gates, all or selected exterior and interior doors for all or selected buildings, across all or selected campuses, including the church. Conduct evening lockdown procedures, ensuring all buildings, including the church, are thoroughly inspected, lights are turned off, and all interior and exterior doors are securely locked. Manage and operate alarm and card reader systems, ensuring proper arming and disarming of security systems in buildings and designated areas as needed for scheduled events. Secure facilities for events by locking/unlocking campus gates, church doors, school buildings, and rooms based on the weekly event schedule. Provide routine patrols throughout the church, campus, and school to maintain a visible security presence, monitoring for and responding to security concerns, suspicious activity, or emergencies while assisting staff, students, volunteers, and visitors. Respond promptly to security-related incidents and concerns, carrying a security cell phone and radio to ensure communication and availability during the assigned shift. Be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the Church, campus, school, and associated facilities.

Communication & Reporting:

Report to and take direction from the Director of Security or their designee, following established security protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, volunteers, church attendees, and visitors. Communicate necessary security information to relevant church staff, school staff, departments, and ministries to ensure campus wide awareness and preparedness.

Engage in ongoing training to stay updated on security procedures, emergency response tactics, and best practices. Handle all confidential matters with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.

Qualifications & Licensing:

Prior Law Enforcement or Military experience. (A minimum of five years with an honorable discharge is preferred.) A valid Florida Class “D” Security Officer License. (Attending and successfully completing all required training for license renewal. A copy of your current license must be provided.) A valid Florida Class “G” Security Officer License. (Attending and successfully completing all required training for license renewal. A copy of your current license must be provided.) The appropriate licenses to carry a firearm and demonstrate proper firearm training if required to carry a weapon.
