School Guardian in Florida required a certification from a Sheriff, all applicants MUST be currently certified or able to get recertified. No applicant should apply unless this is true. Must be 21 years of age and a US Citizen for certification. Just hold or obtain a concealed carry permit in Florida. Must hold or obtain a Florida D and G Security License. May be a current or retired LEO in Florida with current CJSTC standards. The School Guardian plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of students, staff, and visitors within the school environment. This position requires a proactive individual who can monitor school premises, enforce safety protocols, and foster a positive atmosphere conducive to learning. The School Guardian will collaborate with school administration, law enforcement, and community resources to maintain a secure environment. Responsibilities Monitor school grounds and facilities to ensure the safety of students and staff. Enforce school policies and procedures regarding safety and security. Respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies, providing assistance as needed. Collaborate with teachers and administrators to promote a safe learning environment. Conduct regular safety drills and assist in emergency preparedness planning. Build positive relationships with students, encouraging open communication about safety concerns. Report any suspicious activities or breaches of security to appropriate authorities. Maintain accurate records of incidents and safety-related activities. Experience A Current Certification as a Guardian through a local Sheriff is required. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively. Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency response procedures is an asset.
