Miami Children’s Museum is seeking an experienced and motivated Security Supervisor to lead our safety efforts and help create a welcoming environment for families, children, and staff! As a vibrant 501(c)(3) non-profit educational institution, Miami Children’s Museum is dedicated to serving the needs of all children in our multicultural community through interactive exhibits, enriching programs, and immersive learning experiences. As Security Supervisor, you’ll play a key leadership role in maintaining a safe and secure environment throughout the Museum. You’ll oversee a team of security professionals, ensure safety protocols are followed, and respond swiftly and effectively to any incidents—helping us ensure that every visitor can explore, play, and imagine with peace of mind.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the Museum’s security team. Protect the Museum’s property, staff, and guests by maintaining a visible and proactive security presence. Monitor surveillance systems and control access to the facility. Respond to incidents, investigate disturbances, and take appropriate action, including engaging law enforcement when needed. Conduct routine patrols of the building and surrounding areas. Prepare detailed incident and activity reports. Ensure compliance with all safety and emergency protocols. Train, guide, and support security staff in upholding professional standards. Administer first aid or CPR if necessary. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a security supervisor or leadership role required. Strong understanding of public safety, security operations, and emergency procedures. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively. Skilled in using surveillance and emergency response equipment. High level of integrity, professionalism, and situational awareness. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High school diploma or equivalent required; security certification or relevant training preferred. CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
