This role involves ensuring the safety and security of museum visitors, staff, and exhibits while providing exceptional customer service. As a representative of both Security Alliance and the museum, the ideal candidate will exhibit professionalism, reliability, and a genuine appreciation for the arts.

Key Responsibilities Access Control:

Monitor and control entry to restricted areas, ensuring only authorized personnel are allowed access.

Patrolling:

Conduct regular foot patrols of museum galleries, public spaces, and perimeter areas to deter and detect any unauthorized activity.

Surveillance:

Monitor security cameras and alarms to identify potential security risks.

Customer Service:

Provide directions and assistance to visitors while maintaining a welcoming and professional demeanor.

Incident Response:

Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and medical situations, coordinating with museum staff and local authorities as needed.

Documentation:

Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs accurately and on time.

Compliance:

Adhere to all Security Alliance policies and procedures, as well as museum-specific guidelines.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED. Valid Class “D” Security License issued by the State of Florida. Must be at least 18 years old. Authorized to work in the United States. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in security, especially in museum or cultural institution settings. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Interest in or appreciation for the arts is a plus. Skills & Abilities Excellent observation and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to stay calm and professional in high-pressure situations. Physical capability to stand and walk for extended periods and respond quickly to emergencies. Work Environment Indoor and outdoor duties, requiring adaptability to various conditions. Collaborative interaction with museum staff and the public in a professional setting. Benefits Competitive hourly rate of $16.00.

Flexible part-time schedule:

Wednesday to Saturday, 9:45 AM to 4:15 PM. Opportunities for training and professional development.
