RELIEF SECURITY OFFICER
Duties and Responsibilities:
Site Security & Access Control Secure access points to disaster relief sites, shelters, staging areas, and restricted zones. Verify identification and credentials of authorized personnel and volunteers. Maintain entry/exit logs and monitor for unauthorized access. Patrol & Surveillance Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols of the premises to deter looting, vandalism, and unauthorized entry. Monitor security cameras and alarm systems where available. Report and respond to any suspicious activity or safety concerns. Protection of Assets & Resources Safeguard emergency supplies, equipment, and critical infrastructure such as generators, water, fuel, and medical supplies. Prevent theft and misappropriation of relief materials. Emergency Response & Evacuation Support Assist in evacuation efforts or re-entry procedures in coordination with emergency personnel. Support crowd control and direct foot/vehicle traffic during emergencies or supply distributions. Administer basic first aid if trained and necessary. Communication & Incident Reporting Maintain radio contact with command centers and emergency teams. Accurately document incidents, accidents, or breaches in daily activity logs and reports. Notify law enforcement or emergency services as required. Customer Service & Public Interaction Provide assistance and information to displaced individuals, relief workers, and the public. Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in high-stress situations. De-escalate conflicts or stressful situations as they arise. Safety Monitoring Monitor weather conditions and alert personnel of changes that may affect site safety. Inspect and report hazards, structural damage, or unsafe conditions. Enforce safety policies including use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and fire safety protocols. Coordination with Relief Agencies Work alongside FEMA, Red Cross, National Guard, and other humanitarian organizations as needed. Participate in briefings and updates regarding situational changes and security requirements.
