Full Job Description Goblin Market Checkpoint Security Position Overview:

Seeking focused and detail oriented individuals to join the Goblin Army as Checkpoint Security Goblins. Goblins will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our indoor market through effective screening, conflict management, and adherence to established security protocols.

Job Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough screening of guests, bags, and carts to detect prohibited items. Coordinate with other Goblin Market team members to identify rule violations, confront affected parties, and resolve conflicts respectfully, informatively, and legally. Regularly patrol and monitor the premises to ensure a safe and secure environment. Interact with guests, giving directions and responding to inquiries. Engage in conflict management and resolution with a variety of guests to maintain a safe environment. Provide first aid and CPR assistance as needed to ensure the health and safety of guests at the market (training provided) Quickly communicate incidents related to security breaches or suspicious activities to Security Lead Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and emergency response teams during incidents or emergencies.

Qualifications:

Must be 18 or older; certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred. Prior experience in security or related fields is preferred but not required, especially with drag shows, concerts, burlesque shows, or conventions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and handle emergency situations with professionalism. Strong attention to detail and observational skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating independent decision-making capabilities. Ability to act quickly and appropriately without direction. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time Ability to lift over 25 lbs. Ability or experience operating radio Confident interacting with people at all ages, backgrounds, interests, and values

Shift Schedule:

Potential 1 hour online call (Discord) to review protocols and positions. Arrive on site 1-2 hour before the event to meet with the team and review protocols. Event runs from 1-7pm. Looking for 4 individuals to work the 6 hour day in two 3.5 hours shifts. One shift at doors checking carts, bags, pets, etc outside the front door. This area is not air conditioned but will have shade. One shift roaming event for issues, answering questions from guests and vendors. This area is air conditioned with an exterior food court with partial shade. Each team member will do one of each shift type. Leave shift at approximately 7pm when the event ends. This can be a repeating monthly position dependent on performance. As Goblin Market expands to other events, including night time events, we seek to hire from within first, potentially increasing the number of jobs per month.
