The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining the security and safety of guests, Team Members, property, while adhering to standards of service. Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following): Ensure adequate service and safety of property, guests, Team Members, while maintaining a professional and friendly attitude Be first responder in case of emergency, i.e. guest illness, fire emergency, Team Member accident Visually inspect hotel areas; conduct safety and security walkthroughs of all departments, public space, outside grounds, parking, emergency exits, doors, etc. Address issues and resolve. Follow set schedule/walkthrough format, if applicable Adhere to service standards, always ensuring safety and comfort of guests Verbally communicate, in a calm, positive demeanor, taking control, giving direction in case of hotel emergency Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, local safety and health regulations and corporate standards Handle lost & found, using applicable procedures Prepare any necessary reports, i.e. theft reports, Team Member/Guest/Visitor injuries, etc. Maintain a safe work environment for co-workers and a safe hotel for guests Perform additional duties and projects as assigned

Position Requirements:

Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English Professional demeanor appropriate for a hospitality environment One (1) years of experience in the safety/security/loss prevention field Class D Security License Preferred Availability to work the overnight shift (11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.), including weekends and holidays. CPR /First Aid Certified Preferred Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, come of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information
