• The primary responsibility is to deter crime and provide order andcontrol during the shift within the boundaries of the assignedpost.

This Security Professional patrols the facility or stands apost as instructed and serves as a general security presence andvisible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; detectssuspicious activities; watches for criminal acts or client ruleinfractions at or near assigned post. This position responds to allincidents as dispatched providing assistance as needed, protectingpersonnel and property within reason and securing the incidentscene until properly relieved. This position conducts initialinvestigation of incidents and is responsible for completing allappropriate reports. Allied Universal Services is currently searching for a

The Security Officerwill be working in a hospital/health care environment for AlliedUniversal Services. Our officers allow us to accomplish ourcompany’s core purpose which is “to serve, secure and care for thepeople and businesses in our communities”. The ProfessionalSecurity Officer is responsible for the safety and security of thefacilities they protect. Our security officers act as a visibledeterrent to crime and client rule infractions; they detect andreport suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near theirassigned posts which may be a threat to the property, clients,guests or employees at the site. Although essential activities maydiffer based on the facility at which they work, below are some ofthe standards:

• Qualifications/Requirements:

• Qualified applicants for the Professional Security Officer positionwill meet the minimum requirements, as described below: +
• At least 18 years of age; 21 for Armed or Taserpositions.
• + •High school diploma, College Degree, or GED.

Education must beverifiable through the background vendor. (Certificates of CourseCompletion not acceptable).

• + •Must have 5 years of work experience•within the last 5years•, with a minimum of 2 years verifiable workhistory.
• + As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to abackground investigation and Drug Screen in accordance with allfederal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will considerqualified applications with criminal histories in a mannerconsistent with applicable laws. (No open/pending chargesacceptable) + Valid guard card/license, as required in the state for which youare applying. +

• Driving Positions Only:

• Must possess a valid Driver’s Licensewith at least one year of driving experience, a clean drivingrecord (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violationin last 24 months), a minimum level of insurance as required byCompany policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehiclerequired.

+ Must possess effective written and oral communication andinterpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels ofpersonnel and the public in a professional and effective manner;must be able to use initiative and independent judgment withinestablished guidelines + Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs inneat, legible handwriting; may require computer skills + As a condition of continued employment, employee must alwaysmaintain current active status of all required License, and mustalways carry the license while on duty + Ability to handle both common and crisis situations at the clientsite, calmly and efficiently + Answer phones or greet guests / employees in a professional,welcoming manner + Read, understand, and clearly speak English; constantly usespeech and hearing in communicating with public/co-workers, givingand receiving instructions, using phones + Must be able to handle pressure of working with high volumegeneral public (constantly to occasionally depending onassignment)

• Grooming/Uniform Standards:

• The grooming standards for this job include: + The uniform will be clean and worn properly, in a professionalmanner at all times the uniform is worn.

+ No visible face or neck tattoos. + Fingernails cannot be no longer than – inch from the tip of thefinger. + The client’s ID badge will be worn at all times while on clientproperty in accordance with site policy. + Footwear must be slip resistant. + If N-95 masks are required by site, Facial hair will not allowfor proper wear of a particulate mask. + CDC Hand Hygiene Standards will be adhered to at all times. + Perfumes or cologne, or other smells which could impact patientswith respiratory ailments, will not be worn in excess. + Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be worn asappropriate to job roles and duties performed + The use of personal electronic devices is prohibited while onpost/patrol except in designated areas specified by clientpolicy

• Physical and Mental Functions:

• + Climb and descend stairs to all floors of the hospital in theevent elevators are not accessible due to mechanical issues oremergency situations.

+ Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform variousduties + Assist in lifting patients as needed to either assist nursingstaff or help transport expired patients + Restrain violent/combative patients to prevent injuries tothemselves and others + Run as needed + Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditionssuch as cold, rain or heat.
