Part-time Reports to: Security Manager Job Summary This position is under the direct supervision of the Security Manager, and when appropriate, the Security Shift Supervisor. As a member of the Security Department, this individual is responsible for the protection, safeguarding and security of all Fernbank Museum of Natural History guests, patrons, staff, volunteers, collections, and assets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct regular and random patrols around the building and perimeter. Responds to any emergencies. Controls visitor and employee building access. Enforces all security and safety protocols and procedures. Complete incident reports as needed based on the activity of the day. Assists in maintaining any and all security department equipment including but not limited to: security systems and alarms, keys, magnetic coded access system.
Monitors as assigned:
security cameras, computers, and alarm panels. Protects all FMNH property from theft, vandalism, fire, and accidents within reason. Investigates and writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and any and all other security related situations. Provides any needed assistance to visitors, employees, volunteers, and patrons while following the department’s procedures. Assists in maintaining OSHA standards throughout the Fernbank Museum campus. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
